Jun 23, 2009I just started getting deadlocks in code that's been running for some time on my mac pro 2nd edition (8 cores, 2 gb ram). This code was using java 6 from Apple previously - with the upgrade to 1.6.0_13, it's now hanging in the middle of its run. This code has been running for quite some time. Before OSX supported java 6 it also ran on java 5 no problem. it just started hanging after this update. Can the java update be uninstalled?

They worked 1 year ago, but just tried them today and they all say 'The movie could not be opened. This file is not a movie file.' I have not touched them for a year so they haven't changed.

QuickTime :: 7 Pro Upgrade Not Working?
Jun 13, 2012I have bought the registration key and entered it into Quicktime 7. It seems to have accepted it because the icon changed to Pro and it has Quicktime 7 Pro at the bottom instead of 'Buy Quicktime Pro..'
But.. when I go to 'Save As' it is greyed out and leads me to a link to 'Buy Now' but on the US store. I bought my update from the UK store as this is the country I live in and from where my Mac was purchased. Maybe this has something to do with it? I followed a UK store web link to download version 7 before updating.
All I want to do is convert a normal midi so that I can open it in Garageband. The Apple helpline is closed

Problem: after a crash (occurered while whatching a wmv sequence in Safari with Flip4Mac), I uninstalled Flip4Mac. Since then, no way to watch an mpg sequence through Quicktime in Safari - either I get the Quicktime logo with a question mark or Safari crashes.
I tried: reinstalling combo 10.4.8, Safari 2.0.4, Quicktime 7.1.5, creating a new user - no change.
I therefor think that there must be some 'bad' files somewhere in the system, I checked the safari and finder crash logs.

OS X :: Quicktime Plugin Not Working In Safari Or Firefox?
Nov 22, 2009I switched from PC to iMac last week . I am very excited by the performance of Mac OSX and display of the new 21.5' iMac. The only problem I face is that quicktime movies are not played in safari/firefox. Safari waits indefinitely for loading the quicktime movie , firefox shows a big 'Q ?'. Don't know what that means.
This frustrating because I can't view any of the tutorial movies in the apple website. It is ironic that apple's own format is not playing on the new iMac.
The OS is Mac OSX 10.6.2 . Flash is playing well in the same machine. I am new to mac .

im new to this forum,but i really, really need help.My Mac finally dissapointed me..It has slowed a lot,lots,and i mean LOTS of spinning wheels,finder bugs up from time to time,and restarts.iTunes wont start.QuickTime wont start.Toast 10 wont start.Photo Booth wont start (also can;t take pictures with skitch,but skitch works. May 27, 2010It appears that the function keys to control iTunes/Quicktime (FF, Play/Pause, and RW) are not working. At one point they did but now it doesn't. All the other function keys are functioning just fine and dandy. I have the 'Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys' unchecked in the preferences. I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would explain the sudden malfunctioning of the keys. Is there something I may have missed?
